Assignment 2A Bug List:
1.
Some
of my favorite music artists not releasing their music on Spotify. Like when
Jay-Z released his album “4:44” only for people who use the music streaming
service, “TIDAL.”
a.
Why
it exists: In this case, it is because Jay-Z is a major investor in TIDAL and
owns 33% of TIDAL.

People
not wiping down machines or benches after using them at the gym.

machines/benches at the gym. Many gyms provide wipes to do this but don’t pay
an employee to do this.
3.
When
Netflix buffers while I am trying to watch Titanic or Clueless
a.
Why
it Exists: people in my apartment or the library are using the internet to
watch lectures, or do work which is using up bandwidth that I need to
4.
The
long lines at Chick-fil-a during the lunch rush
a.
Why
it exists: Everyone tries to eat lunch at the same time and the majority
classes are let out within minutes of each other and Chick-fil-a is a and
convenient place to eat on campus.
5.
When
restaurants (Ale House) do not wipe down tables between parties.
a.
Why
it exists: Restaurants try to get people seated as quickly as possible to avoid
waits, and occasionally they neglect to wipe down the table to facilitate the
party quickly, and then before you take the drink order the server wipes down
the table
6.
People
in shopping centers when they park over the lines and it is a crowded plaza
(Wal-mart in Butler Plaza)
a.
Why
it exists: people are generally lazy and only think about themselves when it
comes into parking in parking lots, if they see their car is outside of the
lines rarely would they go back to fix it.
7.
“Slow-Walkers”,
aka people who do not walk fast in Turlington, or in other parts of the campus
a.
Why
it exists: People either are texting, facetiming or talking on the phone and do
not pay attention to the flow of walking traffic, and hold up the traffic on
busy sidewalks, or cross walks

People who make commitments such as agreeing
to lunch, going out or too the gym and making up excuses at the last minute as
to why they can’t go.
a.
Why

all human we can’t do everything.

many parking lots around, It is also a newer building on campus and was built
where the land is available.

dominated by fast-casual dining, like Tijuana Flats. The area is also
predominately for bars as well, such as Fat Daddy’s and Rowdy Reptiles.
11.
When the outside door of the Marston Starbucks
is open, and not the entrance that is inside Marston.
a.
Why
it exists: it has two entrances, one outside and one on the inside of Marston.
It doesn’t make sense to keep both entrances open because it would be crazy
trying to get into the line to order your morning, or 2am coffee.
12.
When you are working on a group project and
collecting everyone’s phone numbers and you can’t make a group chat in iMessage
so you are forced to use GroupMe.

allows you to text other iPhones over WIFI, or from your computer, iPad, etc.
Android phones since they are made by the competitor do not have the iMessage
feature.
13.
When the Chipotle on University Ave. does not
give you enough rice when you order online

it exists: There is a limit to the amount of rice that chipotle will give you,
even if you ask for extra, or for an extra scoop. But most of the time it still
is not enough.

are almost yelling into the phone
a.
Why
it exists: sometimes on the bus or in a public area it is hard to hear the
people that are on the other end of the phone cause of the background noise
(wind, other people, bus noises, etc.). We don’t need to hear about you and
your friends plans to “hit up mid.” Most conversations the world does not have
to hear.
15.
How hard it is to open childproof packages

dangerous items such as Tide Pods, or metal scissors. But still it causes us
grown people to struggle to open these items and look like a fool.

waiting for them

who are bandwagon fans of sports teams (too many golden state fans)

trickles down into sports. I don’t think 6 years ago there was so many Golden
State fans in Florida.

turning

limit.

When people say that Jar Jar Binks is the best
Star Wars character
a.
Why
does it exist: people that are from our generation like the new Star Wars
movies because they came out when they are alive, so they identify with those
movies more than the original trilogy. Jar Jar is also one of the more popular
characters of the prequel movies.
Reflection:
This list was harder than I thought
to come up with. For the most part I am a easy-going guy, and nothing really
bothers me too much. I notice that most of the things that bug me have to do
with what other people do and not specific things in general.
To begin the assignment, it was easy to think
of the things that have bug me because they are things that happen in a daily
basis in my life, and I generally text or talk to my friends about them when
they occur.
After
the first 5 or 6 bugs I found it really difficult to come up the things that
bug me. I also found it interesting that most of the things that bug me I have
no real control over, for example the lack of scooter parking near the business
school or when people walk slow.
This
made you switch your mind thinks and think more towards why problems exist.
This gets you thinking in the entrepreneurial mind set on what you can do to try to solve these problems
that exist.
Hey Josh! It was so great to read your blog, some of your bugs had me seriously laughing. I agree with the Chipotle rice thing... that really gets me angry. It makes me not want to order online! Also, I agree that the blinker thing is super annoying. You did a great job addressing the topic for this "bug list" post, it was great to read something so thought out.
ReplyDeleteYou trying to hit up Chipotle to show em who's boss? The may take our rice but they'll never take OUR FREEDOM
DeleteThis blog post was funny and also insightful. Some of the bugs you had were pretty similar to some of mine so I found this to be relatable as well. I liked the humor you brought to the assignment, it definitely made it more enjoyable to read. Also, I agree with your Reflection as I found it hard to come up with bugs after like the 5th one. I think that as a whole, the bugs are just minor inconveniences so normally we just ignore them/live with them.
ReplyDeleteIf you think this was funny wait till my stand-up albulm drops. It's 🔥💯🔥
DeleteMy favorite "bug" on your list by far was the comment on Jar Jar Binks. Really irks me when folks talk about how funny he is. They never mention that he's the most annoying character in the entire series! Anyways, I resonated with many items on your list, especially when it comes to slow/inconsiderate drivers and their safety implications such as failing to turn on their signal, excessive braking, or slow driving, making us late in our daily routine. Good post! Keep it up
