Reading Reflection no.3

The book that I read was “How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big: Kind of the story of my Life” by Scott Adams 1. What was the general theme or argument of the book? a. The book focuses on how to be a successful person in any aspect that you end up choosing, whether its business or personal gain. Adams lays out what he did to make him a person. He goes through chapter by chapter explaining either his personal failure, personal experiences or what he did to become one of the most successful cartoonists of all time. 2. Throughout my interviews I realized that I needed to change my idea and tweak it some. Rather than creating a one giant streaming app and managing that It was suggested that I switch the focus. I switch the idea to an application based service that manages all the subscriptions that you pay for. You will be able to see the cost of the subscription on a per month basis, the yearly saving you will have if you were to cancel the subscription, a one-click cancellation button and also show cheaper alternatives for a similar service. WHO: Through the second-round interviews after I have tweaked my idea from its original form I find that there are a lot of people that fall into this market. These individuals are those that sign-up for multiple subscription-based services, and are looking to save money. My products target a wide variety of people, I mean who does not like to save money. But this is mainly focused towards college students and young professionals that are starting off on their own and becoming financially independent. The main target is a young man ages 18-25. He is wither currently in college or fresh out of college working one of his first jobs. He is renting a cheap apartment with a few roommates or close friends form high school or college. Saving money is challenging for him as he is always wanting to buy the newest gaming system, sunglasses or wastes it on those candy bars at the check-out line. He spends most of his meals eating out at fast casual dining restaurants (chipotle or the like).
