Existing Market:
Within the market that we created for this
application we will need to be constantly updating the apps to fix bug issues,
user interface, and user experience. Also, we will need to be adding to the
apps that we will be offering. I conducted interviews with people after I gave
them a brief overview of my original idea, for the finance application.
The main thing that all the
interviewees said that you will need to have about 5-7 apps that people can use
for productivity purposes. The first interviewee suggested that there was a
note-taking app, and an app to keep track of receipts for reimbursement, and
keep with the ideas of making financial apps to help people because they think
it is confusing. The second interviewee mentioned that they see a path that I can
blaze. They recommended that I follow what the users want in the comments or in
the reviews of the apps. Use these to focus where the business goes. The 3rd
interviewee mentioned something that I had not thought of before to test out
apps. They 3rd interviewee said that you can develop Lite versions
of apps and test them out to see how the response is to it and then work from
there to create new apps and grow the brand from there.
Once the initial pilot application
is launched we will work on fixing any bugs that will happen and get those
resolves as soon as possible. Also, we will work on fixing what our customers
say if it is feasible. From there we will work on making a variety of finance help
apps in lite trail versions to see what the people like and enjoy and work from
there to choose what apps we develop and make full paid versions of.
New market:
Originally, we are targeting
individual consumers, just like you and me. The next logical market to try to
break into is the business market. We can create software, applications and
offer other services to the business to make it more streamlined and efficient.
We can
create value in the market to make boring routine processes much easier and
faster to complete, for example expense reports we can automate and make them
in the cloud connected. Or give the company real-time reports on where money is
going, and where its coming in, rather than waiting for the end of the month,
quarter, year.
After
talking with people who run medium-sized businesses there are some processes
they wish they could affordably automate. The first interviewee, mentioned that
their employees still file expense reports, and their employees occasionally lose
their receipts, and cannot be repaid for the work-related expense. He suggested
that a app that connects the business and all its employees that you can send a
photo of the receipts to the cloud can aid in this, rather than having people hold
onto the receipts for up to a month. He mentioned that the receipts fade after
time and can be hard to read so this could alleviate some of that. The seconded mentioned that at times they
cannot get the real-time data on where their company is spending money, or what
money is coming in or came in. He suggested a service that he can use to easily
display this information. This he said is difficult because there are costs
that being occurred all the time and it sometimes takes a few days to process
so the charges or credits may not be shown for a while.
I
learned that the new market can still have technology update their business.
And that people refrain from using technology to update their internal business
processes because of the cost. I never realized that there was such a high cost
to automate some of these processes. This means if we come up with a low-price
solution to reach their needs with our applications or software we can become
very successful. I think this market brings up some interesting opportunities,
and can be equally lucrative as our other venture.

Hi Josh, I definitely agree with your existing market interviews- to captivate a greater audience you should develop multiple productivity apps and also test out all of the lite versions to get feedback. Your new market sounds like a jackpot! Targeting businesses seems to me as a more lucrative business than individual consumers. You can make the business products a monthly service fee and make a good amount there. It will take some serious thought though.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI also agree with what was stated above and that the need to capture a larger audience by developing a variety of apps is high. Customer feedback is arguably the most important tool to success with a product such as an app! I also agree that your new market sounds very appealing. Although it must be thorough and well thought out, I think that in the end you will be able to put something together that will work great! Well done
Hi Josh! To be honest, I think your product would be much more useful to bussinesses, since they have to manage countless operations and payments, way more than average consumers, so yeah, definetely expanding to bussinesses would boost a lot your business. Keep up the good work!!
